"1 Hour" Doodle Studies (Part 1)
This summer (in 2017), I decided to work on time efficiency and digital painting, to better my skills. As such, I began the exercise of digitally painting from a reference photo of any kind and do my best within 60-minutes, after which I should stop, and post the image. This would force me to focus less on unimportant details, and get the bigger picture. I also imposed myself a rule for most of them of using only one brush (but using filters if necessary), just to see if I could recreate various effects without relying too much on pre-made brushes' textures and forms, even if I do know how useful it is to use all tools at one's disposal haha ^^ You'll notice a lot of them are not actually one hour, but still good practice for time efficiency, compared to a lot more hours haha :p So here is the first batch of doodle studies I managed to do since July - unfortunately have a lot of uni workload, so production slowed down x). In my opinion these look better in smaller size or from further away, thinking of it like digital impressionism in some way haha ^^
