I took the 11-week online animation workshop "Game Animation Workshop 01" at iAnimate.net from April to June 2020, in the class of V. Chavez, as a means to improve my animation skills & continue my learning journey. It was really fun, and positively challenging, and I'm really hoping to do workshops 02 and 03 in the future :).

The workshop focused on character gameplay animation, working within the restrictions of game animation & its systems, the specifics of it, its place in the game development pipeline, and, of course: Body Mechanics, and core principles of animations.

During the workshop, I created three different animations: run cycle, a jump/vault animation, and a hit reaction/death animation (in my case, a knock-out). This was done using one of iAnimate's popular Gaming Approved rig: Lisa. Everything was animated in Maya 2019, at 30fps.

I've also made a variant to the hit-reaction: though I originally had Lisa hold onto her katana for the duration of the animation, I made a version where the sword gets stuck in the ground when the blade hits it, as suggested by my instructor. So below is the compilation of the animations :)

I'm preparing new animation exercises (independently led until I can afford joining the later game animation workshops :)) using Lisa and some other rigs, and am really grateful for the experience! Always learning & seeking to improve my skills!

Thanks for passing by!
