Concept Art Development - Klara Jehlen (CotWR) - 2016
For the module "3D Modelling and Digital Sculpting" in the second year of BSc (Hons) Computer Games (Art & Animation) at GCU (in September- December 2016), the coursework was to model an organic model head/bust, and a 3D environment using Autodesk Maya and/or ZBrush. This specific project displays the visual development steps taken to create the character I later sculpted and modelled.
*Note: As this was the first digital sculpting and modelling of an organic model I did, the models can be refined, and are displayed in a separate project folder :)
Visually Developing 'Klara'
Background info: I knew I wanted to take the chance to develop another character design for a story of mine (Legends of Erayfen), which is set in a fantasy world. This specific story cycle (Chronicles of the Wind Rider) is about a pirate crew. After some brainstorming and doodling, I decided to finally design Klara, an optimistic, kind young woman and doe shapeshifter who escaped slavery with the help of the pirate captain Eliza Valent.
The focus of the project being on creating a bust, a full body concept art was not done, but might be added later in the Chronicles of the Wind Rider project.
Thanks for reading!
