Wanted to learn more about Substance Painter, handpainting, and texturing in general, so I used Sketchfab's recent #LowPolyDessertChallenge (ended on September 9th, 2019) as a small project to help that A small, simple strawberry tart & some Michelettes biscuits. I'm learning a lot, it's challenging & fun; excited to do more projects of the sort ! The focus this time was purely handpainting/texturing, rather than optimisation (hence why the UVs are not particularly optimised :)).
Low Poly Strawberry Tart & Michelettes (model). Note that the model was painted with its own lighting in mind, without Sketchfab's additional lights. However, due to experimentation & learning purposes, and because I thought it would be fun, I left the Sketchfab lights on :).

Textures/Maps - I wanted to practice 3D hand-painting & decided to have individual strawberries instead of a repeating same model that would have had the same painted texture. While it would have saved UV space and overall helped optimise the model had it been intended for a game engine for example, it was not the focus I gave myself in this project. Similarly, I did have a version where the plate and the dessert share one unique UV tile, but since I originally planned to do a 2k texture for the edibles + a 1k max texture for the plate itself (even if I ended up leaving it as a 2k texture), I wanted to experiment and divide the two into their own sets.
Thanks for passing by!
