"Mermay 2023 - CotWR - Tattoos" - Digital Illustration, June 2023
Yearly illustration featuring my original characters Roxanne (redhead on the right) and Eliza (brunette on the left) from my personal stories project "Legends of Erayfen", specifically "Chronicles of the Wind Rider", for Mermay 2023. Very belatedly though as I'd finished that one on June 30th, 2023 x), but it is my yearly tradition to draw Roxanne in her mermaid form for Mermay.
This one takes place sometime later after Mermay 2022 and Mermay 2020's illustrations narratively, when they're still in a forest, taking time to dress some wounds with what they have.
Mostly, though, I drew that one to show off Eliza's "Wind Rider" (the ship) tattoo she has on her arm (Roxanne has it on her ribs ;)), as I'd gotten that tattoo a month prior ^^. I meant to keep it really simple but as usual xD ... Well, I still really like it, and it was essentially my most polished artwork of 2023 :).
It was fun to do, I went back to colouring lineart on that one, and still thank Fred le Martelot for his advice on lighting haha xD
