"Mermay 2021 - CotWR - Back Off" (May 2021), digital illustration of original characters for my personal stories project, "Legends of Erayfen" (here, "Cycle II: Chronicles of the Wind Rider").
Finally got around to doing the process GIF and time-lapsed video for this Mermay 2021 illustration of my original characters Eliza & Roxanne from my personal stories project "Legends of Erayfen" ("Cycle II: Chronicles of the Wind Rider"), and so to make the project for it, just in time for the start of Mermay 2022! These two protect each other, a lot :). It can be useful to have a girlfriend who's part-mermaid when you're wounded and essentially paralysed from a poison painfully forcing you to half-shapeshift while seizing your muscles... Especially in a cavern system connected by various water passages :p Making the best of very specific setting circumstances.
Hopefully I'll get to draw one Mermay thing this year and won't wait a year to post it ^^".
Step-by-step overall process GIF (13 images). Sketches (missing initial sketches), lineart, colours, shading... Was trying some new things :).
This was entirely drawn in Clip Studio Paint EX using my Surface Pro 3.
